Sevan Startup Summit 2017 was launched on 24th of July. From the early morning the busses left Yerevan and lead to Sevan by transferring more than 500 participants. The event this year will host about 1000 participants and guests, among them: 100 startups and software developer teams, lecturers and speakers from Armenia and abroad, investors and venture company representatives from all over the world, successful representatives of business field, photographers, journalists and volunteers.
The organizers of the Summit are The Startup Armenia Foundation, GlobalAM NGO, Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Center of Armenia (SME DNC) and Support to SME development in Armenia. The Startup Armenia Foundation and the SME DNC were the organizers of Sevan Startup Summit 2016. The GlobalAM NGO has joined the organizers in order to bring Armenian startups to international level. The “Support to SME Development in Armenia” (SMEDA) project is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ Private Sector Development in South Caucasus Programme. SMEDA is part of the EU4Business and EU4Innovation initiatives of the European Union.
The general partner of the Summit is Ameriabank. The company will reward the Big Battle participant startup with the Grand Prize of $8000.
The general supporter of the Summit is Beeline Armenia. The company is the internet provider of the Summit, which is prerequisite for the Summit. In addition, the internet connection is the most important part of the Campathon, which is a 24-hour coding event during the Summit.
